"In the Limelight" by Terry Cooke Hall, 24" x 24", framed

"In the Limelight" was an experiment in a complementary palette, and the result is a wildly powerful image! The pure complimentary is red and green, but, in this case, I used a lime green and a red violet, both of which have been influenced with a red oxide, which makes the harmony stronger. It's flashy, yes, but provides a feeling of ultra-strong sunlight on this cowboy and his steadfast companion. When you see original piece in person (available through terrycookehall.com), you can 'feel' the textures created by the combination of cold wax with the traditional oils. It gives this duo even more of an impact of their action in the arena.
