"From the roots of rust and corruption I rise up, in Christ's eyes, fresh and new"

The basis for “Renewal” arose from a photo I took of a rusty metal grate-thing my husband saved in his stash of salvaged metal materials. When I studied the photo with a squinty, discerning eye, florals and leaves and roots emerged from the iron grate’s crisscross pattern. The shadows the pattern cast against the ground suggested roots. “Renewal” became a story of transformation and growth. To me, it’s about my walk with Christ – a reminder that his sacrifice saved me and transformed my soul. ~ kg
